I’m Adie B, a musician and poet based in Tavistock, West Devon.
I’ve been the bass player of Fallen Cedars, a band playing original material which is folky, has some latin flavours and, at times, a jazzy/bluesy vibe. It’s still going after many years. Our favourite venue is the Bicton Inn, Exmouth. The audience there is brilliant.
The project that I’ve been most involved with since “lockdown” has been Feel Good Factory. I love learning crazy new mashups and unusual covers. There’s nothing like a bit of Britney Spears’ Toxic mixed with Minnie the Moocher! FGF is an 8 piece band with awesome harmonies from the singers, brass, violin, keys and a great rhythm section.
It took 3 years to forget so much that I had learnt about English language and literature in order to free myself to create poetry. The motivation has been provided by the brilliant Second Sunday Spoken Word night in Tavistock, West Devon.
My poetry tends to lightly cover the beauty and fragility of our local environment. But I also stray into the abstract/philosophical and the downright quotidian. I am currently developing a portfolio of poems which will be officially published in due course.
